Designing With Heart, Hustle, and HTML

Hey, I’m Jacob Hauter — a small business supporter, creative problem solver, substitute teacher, and the owner of Citrus Made Marketing.

I didn’t go to a fancy design school or climb some corporate marketing ladder. My story starts in the web design and graphic design classrooms at Crystal River High School — spending every spare minute building, designing, and learning under the guidance of some truly incredible teachers. Shout out to Mrs. Dobbins, the web design legend who showed me how to bring ideas to life on screen. Much love to Mrs. Wingate, whose graphic design class taught me about layout, typography, and finding beauty in structure. And of course, Mr. Miloscia — whatever tech you were teaching, it stuck with me.

I even helped build one of the early versions of the Crystal River High School website. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine — and it lit a fire in me that’s still burning.

Around that same time, my dad bought me a used (but awesome) computer from the old PC’s n Parts shop in the Crystal River Mall. That’s where I met the owner, Dadeo, and his son — my friend Aaron — who both took me under their wing and taught me how computers really worked. I didn’t just learn to use the machine — I learned to understand it. To fix it. To build from the inside out.

In my late 20s and early 30s, I became a blogger and streamer, designing graphics, editing video, running websites, and building communities online — long before “content creator” was a job title. That time taught me how to connect, communicate, and stay consistent — tools I use every day in my work now.

Today, I run Citrus Made Marketing, where I help small businesses look great and grow with affordable websites, social media marketing, graphic design, and tech support. I’ve worked with restaurants, artists, contractors, nonprofits, and more — each one unique, each one important.

I still work part-time as a substitute teacher, and long-term I plan to attend business school so I can become a full-time teacher and share what I’ve learned with the next generation of entrepreneurs and creatives.

But above all else, my biggest motivation is my best little friend and son, Wyatt. He’s the reason I push forward, keep learning, and keep building. Every design I create, every site I launch, every client I help — it’s all driven by my desire to build a life for us that’s rooted in purpose, passion, and love.

Couldn't ask for a more amazing kid.

If you’re a small business owner who wants to stand out online, tell your story well, or just have someone you can call when things get overwhelming — I’m your guy. I’m not a big agency. I’m just a real person who shows up, puts in the work, and genuinely cares about your success.

Let’s build something that reflects who you are — and helps you grow.
